Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated film Kingdom has faced multiple delays since March, and as of now, the makers have yet to finalize a release date. Rumors suggest that the production house is waiting for the announcement of Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s release before locking in Kingdom’s date. However, the ongoing speculation surrounding the project is only adding to the uncertainty.

If Hari Hara Veera Mallu releases on July 18, there is talk of Kingdom hitting the screens on July 25. But insiders reveal that director Gowtam Tinnanuri has not given any assurance about meeting this deadline.

Reportedly, a portion of the film still requires reshoots, and composer Anirudh Ravichander is expected to take more time to complete the background score due to his current commitments with Kooli. If these delays persist, a July release looks increasingly doubtful.

Even August 1 poses a challenge. With War 2 and Kooli arriving within a two-week span, producers are concerned that Kingdom’s theatrical run might be affected. To complicate matters further, Rana Daggubati’s production Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Bhagyashree Borse, is also eyeing an August 1 release. If that happens, Kingdom could lose another potential window.

Despite the delays, Kingdom had generated significant buzz, especially after the teaser featuring Jr NTR’s voiceover. The visuals hinted at an epic experience on par with KGF, sparking high expectations. But the repeated postponements are gradually eroding that momentum.

Given the film’s massive budget and the serious tone—set against the backdrop of Sri Lankan refugee issues—the team needs to ramp up promotions to keep the audience engaged. Strategic publicity is now the only weapon to sustain excitement.

It remains to be seen what path the Kingdom team will take to ensure the film gets the grand release it deserves.
