Oh Lord, here came the time, the end of blind beliefs and exaggerated investments!!- That is what many in the film trade circles felt after Agnyaathavasi has fallen flat at the box office after a staggering 125 crores were spent to acquire the theatrical rights.
Ever since Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi failed big time at the box office, the first thought that came to anyone’s mind is that in the upcoming days, distributors will not be investing huge on any big star. Had the film got sold at 60-70 crores, definitely many distributors would have got saved without any loss though the film is a disaster. But what is happening in reality?
Despite Spyder hitting them hard and Agnyaathavaasi breaking their kneels, there is not stopping for distributors when it comes to betting huge on big stars. Latest update says that Mahesh’s next flick Bharat Anu Nenu is getting offers around 100+ crores for theatrical rights including all the territories. So if anyone is feeling that Agnyaathavaasi effect will slow down trade, then it is just a trash.
As long as the distributors are coming forward to pour huge on star heroes, surely makers are going to touch the sky with their demands. And there is a mechanism to check it because cinema business is a guess-market with success coming randomly.
