Bihar politics has once again heated up after the Congress party released an AI-generated video showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother Heeraben appearing in his dream and scolding him over political issues.
The 36-second clip carried a clear disclaimer that it was created using AI, but the BJP has strongly objected to it, calling the act “cheap politics” and “an insult to women.” The party has also announced that it will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission against Congress.
This is not the first time Modi’s mother’s name has entered political debates. In the past, a Congress worker in Bihar made derogatory remarks about Heeraben during a rally, which led to his arrest. Rahul Gandhi later issued an apology, while Modi had also said that his mother had nothing to do with politics.
Now, with the release of this AI video, BJP leaders have expressed outrage, accusing Congress of taking political rivalry to a new low and misleading the public with fake technology. The video has triggered a larger national debate on the use of AI in politics and the ethical limits of election campaigning.
