Ajith Kumar Demands ₹150 Crore for Next Film with Adhik Ravichandran

Despite a series of underperforming films, Ajith Kumar continues to enjoy massive stardom in Tamil cinema, rivaling the fan following of Thalapathy Vijay and even Rajinikanth. While his films may not always dominate the box office, his brand value—and his paychecks—remain untouched.

Fresh reports now suggest that Ajith is demanding over ₹150 crore for his next collaboration with director Adhik Ravichandran. The duo first teamed up for Good Bad Ugly, which released in April 2025. Made on a reported budget of ₹200 crore, the film underperformed overall but still became Ajith’s highest-grosser to date, performing especially strongly in Tamil Nadu.

The success of Good Bad Ugly sparked discussions about a second collaboration, but progress has stalled—primarily over Ajith’s remuneration. Producers were reportedly willing to pay around ₹150 crore, but Ajith’s higher asking price caused them to back out.

Several producers initially showed interest, but factoring in Ajith’s salary would push the overall budget beyond ₹300 crore—a risk considered too high. As a result, the film remains unannounced, with Ajith’s remuneration cited as the key reason for the delay.
