The Tamil film industry is buzzing with salary updates, as superstar Ajith Kumar may soon join the ₹200 crore league alongside Vijay and Rajinikanth. Following the massive success of his action-comedy Good Bad Ugly (GBU), reports suggest Ajith is set to hike his fee from ₹150 crore to ₹175 crore for his next project, tentatively titled AK64. This news has sparked major curiosity among fans and producers alike.

Ajith is expected to reunite with director Adhik Ravichandran for AK64. Known for his belief that “even simple stories should be presented on a grand scale,” the project is estimated to have a staggering budget of ₹300–400 crore. Though the figures are yet to be officially confirmed, industry circles are abuzz with excitement. Shooting is likely to take place during the racing off-season, giving Ajith time to focus fully on the film.

Earlier this year, Ajith starred in Vidaamuyarchi, an action thriller directed by Magizh Thirumeni, where he played a man entangled in a kidnapping plot in Baku. The film featured Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Arav, and Regina Cassandra and received mixed reviews. However, Ajith bounced back strongly with Good Bad Ugly, where he portrayed a former gangster on a mission to save his son. Featuring Trisha, Arjun Das, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, and Shine Tom Chacko, the film became a blockbuster.

With AK64, Ajith aims to go beyond his fanbase and appeal to a wider audience by blending action, drama, and grandeur. If successful, the film could set new benchmarks in Tamil cinema and firmly place Ajith in the ₹200 crore club.
