Ajith Kumar has always stood apart in the Tamil film industry for his humility and grounded approach to stardom. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he has consistently rejected the idea of hero worship and star obsession. Years ago, he requested fans and media to stop calling him “Thala,” choosing instead to be known simply as Ajith. He avoids press meets, audio launches, and pre-release events, preferring a low-key lifestyle focused on meaningful work and personal peace.
In a recent interview, Ajith once again addressed fan behavior, urging them to act responsibly. He expressed concern over the destructive celebrations that often accompany major film releases—such as bursting firecrackers, tearing theatre screens, and damaging seats. “I have a good life today because of my fans, and I’m deeply grateful,” he said. “But celebrating a film shouldn’t come at the cost of property or safety. When media compare openings between stars, it only fuels unnecessary rivalry. This madness needs to stop.”
On the professional front, Ajith was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, released earlier this year. The film marked another collaboration with director Adhik Ravichandran, and reports suggest the duo may reunite once again for their next project. True to his nature, Ajith continues to balance his passion for cinema with his quiet, disciplined life away from the spotlight.
