The anticipation for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming blockbuster Akhanda 2 is at an all-time high, with theatrical rights in the Telugu states commanding astronomical prices. Following the success of OG, Akhanda 2 emerges as the next major Tollywood release, carrying sky-high expectations from fans and the industry alike.

Industry insiders say the film is not only expected to open big but must sustain a strong run to meet its substantial break-even target. Balakrishna, who redefined his box office stature with the 2021 hit Akhanda, is poised to make a grand return, promising high-voltage entertainment for his fans.

The pre-release business for the film is staggering. In Andhra Pradesh’s six territories alone, deals are reportedly closing in the ₹50–55 crore range. The Ceded region is pegged at around ₹22 crore, while the Nizam region has been locked at a whopping ₹36 crore.

Trade sources reveal that the theatrical break-even for Akhanda 2 stands at ₹110 crore share, meaning the film will need to gross around ₹200 crore in Telugu states alone to be considered a safe venture. For context, the first Akhanda earned a ₹60 crore share, which means the sequel must outperform its predecessor by over 83% to reach the break-even mark. Achieving this monumental target will largely depend on how well the film resonates with audiences.
