The highly anticipated sequel to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 2021 blockbuster Akhanda is set to hit theaters across India on December 5, 2025, releasing in multiple languages. Titled Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, this marks Balakrishna’s first nationwide release, following the pan-Indian popularity of the original film after its digital debut.
While promotional activity for the film has been gradual, fans were treated to a special Diwali announcement revealing the release of the second teaser, titled BLASTING ROAR, on Friday, October 24. Unlike a song, this teaser will provide a brief but impactful glimpse of the movie, centering on Murali Krishna, one of the twin brothers played by Balakrishna.
In the original Akhanda, Balakrishna portrayed twin roles: Akhanda and Murali Krishna. The first half largely focused on Murali Krishna, a farmer entangled in intense action sequences against the villain played by Srikanth. The first teaser, released in June, highlighted Akhanda and went viral, especially for its iconic trishul action scene. Fans can expect the upcoming teaser to be equally thrilling, featuring powerful dialogues that showcase the signature style of Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu.
Akhanda 2: Thaandavam stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyukta Menon, and Aadi Pinisetty. The film is written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under 14 Reels Plus, and presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri. The music is composed by Thaman S, promising a high-octane soundtrack to match the film’s action-packed narrative.
