Akshay Benefitting From ‘Laal Singh Chadda’ Controversy!

Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar is all set to lock horns with Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan on 11th August. While Akshay is arriving with a movie woven around sister sentiment titled ‘Raksha Bandhan’, Aamir is coming with the Indian adaptation of ‘Forrest Gump’ and it is titled ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. While it is a tough task to compete with Aamir Khan’s film since his movies break records most of the time, the situation is a bit different this time.

The comments made by Aamir Khan about intolerance in 2015 and still haunting him as a few sections of the public are demanding that ‘Laal Singh Chadda’ should be banned. Even Kareena who plays the lead in Aamir’s upcoming film made some controversial statements in the past which are working against ‘Laal Singh Chadda’. Despite Aamir himself coming out and explaining the situation, right wingers are not calming down. They are not ready to watch ‘Laal Singh Chadda’ at all costs. They are even influencing others through social media platforms by starting anti-Aamir Khan hashtags. Aamir faced the same situation during the release of ‘Thugs Of Hindustan’ too but Amitabh Bachchan’s presence in the film limited the agitation.

But the troubles of ‘Laal Singh Chadda’ are working in favour of Akshay Kumar and his movie ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is a complete entertainer with a good dose of emotions. Sister sentiment is the key factor of this film and people who are against Aamir’s film are openly supporting Akshay’s movie. This will have a huge impact on the opening day collections and all ‘Raksha Bandhan’ needs to do is to get a positive talk. On the other hand, Aamir’s film needs a unanimous hit talk right from the morning shows in order to overcome this heat and end up being successful on 11th August. Let us wait and see what happens.

A. R. Rahman continues to remain one of the most respected and influential music directors in Indian cinema. The Oscar-winning composer once ruled the industry with back-to-back iconic albums. Although his output slowed down in recent years, he now seems to be making a strong comeback, creating fresh buzz across film circles.

For the film Peddi, Rahman reportedly agreed to a remuneration of ₹6 crore, which is noticeably lower than his earlier fee. Many in the industry viewed this as a strategic move, showing his willingness to adapt to evolving market dynamics.

However, things took a different turn soon after. Following the massive success of the song Chikiri, which became a nationwide sensation, the same production house approached him again for a mid-range project with a budget of around ₹30 crore. Expecting a similar or slightly reduced fee, they were surprised when Rahman reportedly quoted ₹10 crore, prompting the makers to reconsider and eventually drop the idea.

In another instance, Ram Charan is said to have recommended Rahman for a project featuring Chiranjeevi, to be directed by Bobby Kolli. When approached, Rahman reportedly quoted ₹12 crore. After assessing the overall budget, the team decided to move forward with S. Thaman instead.

Rahman’s fluctuating remuneration, combined with his renewed demand, has now become a major talking point in the industry, reflecting both his enduring value and the shifting economics of film music.
