New Delhi: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar on Tuesday clarified that a trailer circulating online showing him as Maharishi Valmiki is entirely fake and created using AI.
Taking to social media, he stated, “I have recently come across AI-generated videos portraying me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to make it clear that all such videos are fake. What’s worse is that some news channels have reported them as ‘news’ without verifying their authenticity.”
Akshay urged media outlets to exercise caution and verify information before reporting. “In today’s era of fast-spreading misleading content powered by manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to authenticate information before publishing it,” he added.
This clarification comes in the wake of other celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Karan Johar legally seeking protection against unauthorized use of their name, image, voice, and personality online. Akshay recently appeared in “Jolly LLB 3” alongside Arshad Warsi, which released in theatres on September 19.
