Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, one of India’s highest-paid actors, successful producers, and consistent top taxpayers, has firmly shut down rumours of being “money-minded.”
While promoting Jolly LLB 3 on Aap Ki Adalat, Akshay clarified:
“Of course, I earn money — but never by cheating. I’ve worked hard for every bit of it. For the last eight years, I’ve been the country’s highest taxpayer, and that itself proves I’m not money-minded.”
He went on to explain that much of his income is directed towards public service:
“I earn, I pay my taxes, and I ensure a significant part of that money is used for good causes. That is my responsibility. As long as one works with honesty, there’s nothing wrong in earning.”
In a striking example of his values, Akshay revealed that he once invested his own money to complete a film when the producer faced a financial crisis — showing his dedication to commitment over profit.
