Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who is known for his message-oriented and patriotic films seems to have found an inclination towards horror movies these days. He is showing special interest in remaking interesting South Indian horror films lately. As it is known, Akshay remade Lawrence’s super hit horror-comedy ‘Kanchana’ as ‘Laxmmi’.
The film was released on Disney Hotstar this month and got a mixed response. But he has put his trust in another South Indian film. He turned producer for the remake of Anushka’s ‘Bhaagmathie’. It is titled ‘Durgamati’ in Hindi and Bhoomi Pednekar is playing the lead role. It may not be a complete horror film but it definitely has a lot of spooky elements.
The trailer has been released recently and it is going to be released in a popular OTT platform. This is not the first time that Akshay remake a South horror flick. He was the hero in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ which was a remake of Rajnikanth’s ‘Chandramukhi’. Let us see if ‘Durgamathi’ becomes a successful production venture for Akshay or not.
