Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, also fondly known as “Seetamma,” used to be extremely active in the film industry just a couple of years ago. Even if she appeared in just two or three films a year, she always stayed in the public eye. For almost a decade, her career maintained a consistent pace—juggling multiple projects simultaneously, and even touching Hollywood along the way. Despite being busy in Bollywood, she took on small roles in Hollywood, ensuring she remained visible internationally.
However, Alia’s speed has noticeably slowed down recently. At present, she is reportedly working on only two films. One of them is Alfa, which has already wrapped up shooting and is currently in post-production. In this film, Alia plays a spy role, and the movie is being made under the prestigious banner of Yash Raj Films. The other project, Love and War, is still in production, with shooting progressing slowly. This film marks her reunion with Ranbir Kapoor. Beyond these two projects, Alia does not have any new films lined up.
Interestingly, there has been little media buzz or publicity around these films. Fans are curious about how Alia is spending her downtime. In the past, she mentioned that she never really has “idle” moments; she spends her free time listening to scripts, interacting with directors, and shortlisting projects that appeal to her. But it seems that Alia is currently taking a more selective approach in choosing new roles.
Alfa is expected to release later this year, while Love and War is slated for release next year. Alia was last seen on the big screen in Jigra, which released last year but failed to meet the high expectations. Prior to that, she made her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone, where her small role earned her recognition despite receiving some criticism.
