Allari Naresh Returns to Comedy with Rambha Urvashi Menaka

Allari Naresh, who was once a household name for his back-to-back comedy hits up to 2015, is now ready to embrace his trademark humor again. After years of playing comic roles, he had shifted his focus to serious cinema following criticism that his comedy had become repetitive. Films like Naandhi and Bachhalamalli showcased his acting range, with Naandhi receiving decent appreciation. However, his serious roles after that failed to impress the audience, forcing him to rethink his career strategy.

His recent comedy, Aa Okkati Adakku, unfortunately, failed to make an impact at the box office. This prompted him to take a short break and regroup. Realizing that his strength lies in comedy, Naresh is now determined to return to the genre that made him a star, this time by choosing scripts that connect with modern audiences.

His next comedy project has already been titled Rambha Urvashi Menaka, and the intriguing title itself hints at the possibility of three heroines in the film. The story, said to have been crafted by director Chandra Mohan — known for Radha with Sharwanand — has been greenlit by Naresh himself, who loved both the story and the title.

This film promises to blend old-school comic fun with contemporary storytelling. The pre-production is already in its final stages, and regular shooting is expected to commence soon. The movie will be jointly produced by two top production houses.

Given the current trend where comedy only works if it’s fresh and in tune with the times, Rambha Urvashi Menaka is being designed as a modern comedy that will stand out. However, there’s still some suspense surrounding the title — is it purely comedy, or will it have some romance too? The team is tight-lipped for now, so we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to find out.
