Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to step into the shoes of a real-life hero in an upcoming patriotic action drama based on the acclaimed novel ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’ by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. According to Hindi media reports, the film will see Salman playing Colonel B. Santosh Babu, who bravely led Indian troops against the Chinese Red Army during the Galwan Valley clash in 2020, sacrificing his life in the line of duty.

The announcement has stirred emotional reactions online, particularly from the late Colonel’s hometown of Suryapet, Telangana. Netizens have expressed joy and pride that the courageous story of Santosh Babu is being brought to the big screen, with many calling the film a fitting tribute to the martyr.

The screenplay is being crafted by Suresh Nair, Chintan Gandhi, and Chintan Shah, while the project will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Salman is expected to begin a 70-day shoot starting in July, with major portions to be filmed in Ladakh and Mumbai.

Interestingly, the actor was initially in talks for another high-profile project titled ‘Sikandar’, eyed for an Eid 2025 release. However, it appears that he has now prioritized this patriotic army-action drama, recognizing the importance and emotional depth of the subject matter.

This won’t be Salman Khan’s first foray into military roles. He previously portrayed an Army havaldar in ‘Heroes’ (2008) and captivated audiences as a RAW agent in the espionage thrillers ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017)—films that underscored patriotism, humanitarian values, and cross-border peace.

With this yet-to-be-titled film, Salman is expected to deliver one of his most grounded and heartfelt performances, honoring a national hero whose legacy lives on.
