Shooting for star-led films often requires overseas schedules, especially when the story demands diverse locations. For pan-India films, there’s rarely any compromise—opting out of international shoots is not an option. Even if filmmakers try to recreate foreign locations on sets, it rarely delivers the same feel, and the costs remain high, often running into crores. Hence, foreign schedules are almost inevitable for large-scale productions.
Currently, Icon Star Allu Arjun is starring in a pan-India project directed by Atlee. Since the start of the shoot, most filming has taken place domestically. The team is shooting primarily in Mumbai, setting up multiple elaborate sets and capturing scenes at various local locations. This Mumbai schedule is expected to wrap up soon. The next major schedule is planned in Abu Dhabi, which will be a massive 50-day shoot. Actress Deepika Padukone will also be part of this schedule, with several key combination scenes with Allu Arjun, including some high-octane action sequences.
Meanwhile, Young Tiger NTR is leading Prashanth Neel’s upcoming pan-India film Dragon. Since the beginning of its shoot, the team has been filming domestically, with important sequences currently being shot in Karnataka. Following this, the production will move to international locations, with filming planned across 10 countries.
Director Prashanth Neel has made it clear that the story demands foreign locales, and there’s no room for compromise. While he usually prefers completing films on elaborate sets, Dragon’s narrative requires exotic locations, prompting the overseas schedule. The team will continue shooting extensively abroad, planning necessary local stops along the way. Despite reports and updates in the media, production houses have not fully confirmed all details, leaving some aspects of the schedule unclear.
