Amaravati to Become a Global Investment and Connectivity Center

Amaravati is being developed not just as the capital of Andhra Pradesh but as a national-level hub that connects neighboring states and attracts global investment. The Andhra Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is planning to expand Amaravati’s scope beyond initial expectations. The goal is to turn it into a national project, linking it with key regions of India through new national highways.

To bring this vision to life, the government is exploring all possible options, with a significant focus on enhancing connectivity. Plans are in place to connect Amaravati with major cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata using newly proposed highways. Once these projects are completed, Amaravati will not only be more accessible within Andhra Pradesh but will also attract people from neighboring states, bolstering regional integration.

In addition to improved road connectivity, the state is preparing to welcome international investors by developing an international airport in Amaravati. The government is planning to acquire around 30,000 to 40,000 acres of land for this purpose, with the goal of completing the acquisition process within two years. This move is expected to facilitate global business opportunities and strengthen Amaravati’s position as a key investment destination.

The state government has already finalized a master plan for road connectivity, which includes the development of three important highways: Elevated Corridor-5, Elevated Corridor-13, and National Highway-13. These highways will directly connect Amaravati to Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, improving national road connectivity and making travel more efficient across these major cities. Several investors have already discussed these routes with CM Chandrababu Naidu, and the government is expected to invite tenders for the highway projects in the coming days. They are also working closely with the central government to ensure clarity and support for the construction of these vital infrastructure projects.
