Amitabh Bachchan has surpassed some of India’s biggest stars, including Allu Arjun, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Prabhas, to emerge as the highest tax-paying celebrity for the financial year 2024-25. Reports indicate that Bachchan earned a staggering ₹350 crore during the financial year, leading to a massive ₹120 crore tax liability—a 69% increase from the previous year’s ₹71 crore. This remarkable figure places him ahead of Prabhas, who remains one of the highest-paid actors in India, alongside other A-list stars.

At 82 years old, Amitabh Bachchan continues to dominate the industry with major film projects and brand endorsements fueling his income. His recent ventures include the highly anticipated sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, for which he earned ₹20 crore for his role as Ashwatthama. He also made his Tamil cinema debut with Vettaiyan, taking home ₹7 crore. Apart from films, his revenue streams extend to brand endorsements, where he commands fees ranging from ₹3 crore to ₹8 crore per advertisement, featuring in campaigns for major brands such as GSK, MediBuddy, and Bikaji.

While Allu Arjun set new benchmarks with his ₹300 crore paycheck for Pushpa 2: The Rule and Prabhas commanded ₹80 crore for Kalki 2898 AD, it was Bachchan’s diversified income sources that secured his position as India’s top taxpayer. Even after decades in the industry, he continues to prove that age is no barrier to success, setting new standards in both cinema and financial influence.
