In a shocker it is comingout that villagers of Sadhikpur, Moradabad in UP are in darkness not for 1 or 2 years but eversince Independence. A village consisting of 3000 people never witnessed electricity since independence.
Parents find extremely difficult to find match to their children as many are against coming to this dark village located 60 KM from Moradabad. In this village refrigirators are used as almirahs and locals run to nearby villages to charge their mobiles.
Some youngsters say they have given up hope of seeing their village illuminate with electricity. Even nearby villages are no better. Imlak a KM away from Moradabad is not having electricity for 20 years inspite of having polls and and electric wires. The village has no machines and technical appliances.
Villagers allege that they made numerous requisitions to electricity department but of no use. PK.Goel, Chief Engineer of Paschimanchal Vidyut Visaran Nigam Ltd says he came just 20 days ago and came to know about the ground reality only four days back. He said he ordered a probe and can say anything only after the report comes.
