As a bid to see that fraudsters won’t spread fake news and false on Coronavirus cases and casualties in the state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to deal with the fake news with an iron fist.
The Chief Minister has issued directives to the Superintendents of police to take stringent action against people, who spread fake news on social media platforms.
CM Jagan has reportedly told the SPs that they possess the power to send the fraudsters to prison if they are found guilty of spreading fake news, inculcating fear in the minds of people.
“Do not spare people who spread fake news. The SPs should act harshly on the fraudsters. The details of Covid-19 cases and casualties will be mentioned in the official media bulletin,” Jagan said.
“People are fearing the Covid-19 crisis. Spreading fake news in the tough time will increase the fears and concerns about the virus spread. The public should not get affected by the fake news,” Jagan added
