Andhra Pradesh Introduces WhatsApp Governance Model

Share

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, known for his visionary reforms in government administration, is set to introduce a groundbreaking initiative. In a first for India, the state government will launch the WhatsApp Governance Model tomorrow, marking a significant leap in digital administration.

This pioneering move will make administrative services available to the public through WhatsApp, aiming to streamline processes and reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices. The initiative will initially offer 161 services, including those related to endowments, energy, APSRTC, revenue, Anna Canteen, the AP CM Relief Fund, municipal services, and more.

The pilot phase, starting tomorrow, will evaluate the effectiveness of this model, with the long-term goal of offering nearly all government services via WhatsApp. By leveraging the popularity and accessibility of WhatsApp, the government hopes to make public services more efficient and user-friendly.

As Andhra Pradesh becomes the first state in India to implement this innovative governance model, it is expected to set a precedent for other regions to follow.
