In yet another major achievement, Andhra Pradesh has been placed number 2 in India in the World Bank’s report on the list of states with flexible business opportunities. Revealing the news of this achievement is none other than the AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who tweeted, “Delighted to announce that Andhra Pradesh has been ranked 2nd in India on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ by World Bank. We’re making an impact.”
The World Bank conducted this survey at the behest of the union government and on the basis of factors like the developmental growth rate and performance, apart from assessing the implementation of business reforms by the respective states. AP stood in a close second position with 70.12% score, while Gujarat topped the list with 71.14%. The neighboring state of Telangana stood in 13th position with 42.45%.
What’s even more surprising is that relatively smaller states like Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, both rich in abundant natural resources, stood in the 3rd and 4th positions respectively. AP’s achievement is indeed a wonderful start towards the progress of the state’s economy and its efforts in being placed among the world’s fast developing states.
