Animal Movie Controversy Leads to CBFC Head’s Removal

Recently, a big controversy happened in the film industry that made everyone heads turn. Ravinder Bhaker, the CEO of CBFC, lost his job. For now, Smita Vats Sharma from the Press Information Bureau will take charge of the censor board.

This change connects to the movie ‘Animal,’ made by Sandeep Reddy Vanga with Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The film contains a lot of violence and disrespect towards women, which caused strong arguments within and outside the CBFC.

People questioned how a movie with such violent scenes and negative portrayal of women got approval. It breaks many rules for censorship. Giving it an ‘A’ certificate without cutting those scenes led to a big controversy nationwide and within the I&B ministry.

This move against Bhaker might not be the only one. It suggests that more changes could happen in the board soon.

This situation might create difficulties for Sandeep Reddy Vanga if he plans a sequel, ‘Animal Park,’ with similar content.

This incident reminds of previous claims about corruption in the CBFC. Tamil actor Vishal accused the board of corruption, saying he had to pay a big bribe to get his film approved.

‘Animal’ got a lot of criticism after its release because of its violence, abuse, and how it supports harmful masculinity. Many people criticized it. This decision has sparked debates about the ethics of certifying movies and showing harmful behaviors in films.
