After the release of Bhaagamathie, actress Anushka Shetty took a surprising break from the silver screen, sparking endless speculation. At a time when she was at the peak of her career, the sudden pause left fans wondering. Typically, actors step away after a string of flops, but Anushka chose to take time off despite being in the midst of back-to-back successes.
Rumors swirled—some said she wasn’t getting offers, others claimed she was deliberately distancing herself from films, and a few speculated that she was preparing for marriage. Through it all, Anushka remained silent, never addressing the buzz directly—until now.
In a recent interaction, Anushka finally opened up about the real reason behind her hiatus. “By the time I completed Bhaagamathie, I was exhausted from doing films non-stop. It had reached a point where every day—from morning to night—was spent in front of the camera. Life had turned into a series of sets and schedules,” she explained.
She revealed that the break was a conscious decision to step away and recharge. “I felt the need to distance myself from the camera for a while. I received plenty of film offers during the break, but I just didn’t have the enthusiasm to act at that time. This gap helped me reconnect with myself, and now I feel completely refreshed and excited to work again.”
Anushka also shared an interesting detail about her preferences—despite being a part of iconic horror films like Arundhati and Bhaagamathie, she admitted that she doesn’t watch horror films herself. When asked if she had seen those two movies, her response subtly hinted that she hadn’t.
However, she holds Arundhati very close to her heart, calling it a turning point in her career. “I learned so much during the shoot of Arundhati. It remains one of the most impactful experiences of my life,” she said.
Now back in the spotlight, Anushka appears re-energized and ready to take on new challenges—with a sense of calm, clarity, and the same grace that made her a household name.
