Superstar Mahesh Babu is reportedly upping his game for SSMB29, his much-anticipated collaboration with SS Rajamouli. Buzz in the industry suggests that Mahesh is keen on performing many of the film’s intense stunt sequences himself, minimizing the use of body doubles. Given Rajamouli’s penchant for immersive storytelling and high-octane action, this decision could add a raw, authentic edge to the film.

The production is unfolding across multiple international locations, with several massive action set pieces in the works. Sources say Mahesh isn’t doing this to prove a point but to stay genuinely connected to the narrative’s physical demands — a hallmark of Rajamouli’s filmmaking.

There are some significant changes behind the camera too. Longtime Rajamouli collaborator Senthil Kumar is not handling the cinematography this time. Instead, a new cinematographer has been brought in to introduce a fresh visual style.

Adding to the film’s grandeur, a vibrant dance number featuring Mahesh was recently shot on a sprawling market set near Hyderabad. Additionally, Priyanka Chopra has reportedly performed a traditional Chhau dance for a key sequence.
