In a fresh jolt to Bollywood after stars likes of Amitabh and Aishwarya found their names involved in the sensational Panama Papers scandal, popular Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and his actress wife Kajol are reportedly the latest stars to be named in the scam for buying 100% shares of an offshore entity.According to the latest reports published in national media, Ajay bought over the 100 percent shareholding of Marylebone Entertainment Limited, a British Virgin Islands company in 2013.
Marylebone Entertainment Ltd has Mossack Fonseca as its agent and it originally belonged to London-based Hassan N Sayani and Ajay said that the company was set up to acquire and explore overseas rights of Bollywood films.In his explanation to the media, Ajay said, “This company was set up with RBI guidelines for overseas direct investment route. Proper disclosures have been made by my family in the tax returns as required by law”.
Ajay purchased 1,000 shares in the Marylebone Entertainment Ltd on October 31, 2013 on behalf of M/s Nysa Yug Entertainment, a partnership firm along with his actress wife Kajol. Recently, the Devgn couple was made brand ambassadors for AP Tourism by CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
