Dil Raju Clarifies IT Raids and Health Rumors
Prominent film producer Dil Raju has provided clarity on the recent Income Tax (IT) raids conducted at his residence and other properties over the past four days. Addressing the media for the first time since the raids, Dil Raju refuted speculation and rumors about alleged findings during the operation.
Speaking at the press meet, Dil Raju stated, “IT officials conducted raids at my properties back in 2008. After 16 years, they conducted raids again. During this time, my financial records were also surveyed on three occasions. IT raids are common for business people, and I cooperated fully with the officials.”
He dismissed media reports suggesting that money and incriminating documents were found during the raids. “Nothing illegal was uncovered. The officials did not find any unaccounted money or unlawful documents. The cash we had—Rs. 5 lakhs with me, Rs. 4.5 lakhs with my brother Sirish, Rs. 6.5 lakhs with my daughter, and Rs. 2.5 lakhs at our office—was all accounted for, amounting to less than Rs. 20 lakhs in total. We provided valid documentation to substantiate this,” he explained.
Dil Raju further clarified that no investments or property purchases were made in the last five years, and he shared complete financial details related to his film projects. “We have consistently maintained proper records, and the authorities verified our documents and declared them clean,” he added.
Addressing concerns about his mother’s health, the producer denied reports claiming she suffered a heart attack. “My mother, who is 81 years old, was admitted to the hospital due to a lung infection causing a severe cough. She was in the hospital for two days and is being discharged now. Speculative reports about her condition are untrue,” he clarified.
Concluding his remarks, Dil Raju urged the media to refrain from spreading baseless rumors and to rely on verified information.
