Andhra Pradesh Minister for Excise and BC Welfare Kollu Ravindra had a narrow escape in a major road accident when his car overturned and did several summersaults at the Acharya Nagarjuna University near Khaja Toll Plaza near Mangalagiri on the Guntur-Vijayawada highway on Thursday night.
The accident took place while Kollu Ravindra was on his way from Tirupati to Vijayawada. A major danger was averted as the car’s air balloon opened in time. The minister and four other accomplices sustained minor injuries in the mishap and they were admitted to the Manipal Hospital in Tadepalli.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the car’s driver lost control on the steering as they approached the toll gate. The minister and his accomplices recovering well and the police are investigating the matter.
