Appeals Court Curtails YS Jagan’s Control in Family Property Dispute

Share

The YS family’s internal property dispute has recently escalated, with YS Jagan approaching the Company Tribunal against his mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila. He sought to reclaim gifts previously given to them and initially secured a favorable judgment from the tribunal.

However, the latest ruling by the appeals court in Chennai has come as a major setback for Jagan. The court clarified that, until a final judgment is delivered, all three — Jagan, his wife Bharathi, and Vijayamma — will continue to hold their respective shares and powers within the company.

This decision contrasts sharply with the earlier ruling, which had granted absolute authority to Jagan and Bharathi. With Vijayamma now having equal power in the company, unilateral decisions by Jagan will no longer be possible.

Jagan had hoped for complete control over the company and its operations, but the court’s ruling restricts his authority and effectively ends his attempt to sideline Sharmila and Vijayamma.
