Apple Set to Unveil Powerbeats Pro 2: Enhanced Features and Design Coming Soon
Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch the next iteration of its Powerbeats Pro wireless earphones, with an announcement potentially as early as February 11, 2025. According to industry insider Mark Gurman, the new Powerbeats Pro 2 will come with several notable upgrades, including heart rate monitoring, a feature that was previously speculated for Apple’s AirPods Pro but never materialized.
With a price point expected to be around $250 in the US, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will introduce several key enhancements. Notably, the earphones will be equipped with Apple’s H2 chip, previously seen in the AirPods Pro 2. This upgrade promises significant improvements in both active noise cancellation and overall audio performance, making them a strong contender for audiophiles and fitness enthusiasts alike.
The design of the Powerbeats Pro 2 is also set for a redesign. Leaked images suggest a more streamlined profile with slimmer ear hooks, aligning with the aesthetics Apple previewed when baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani was spotted wearing the new model. This sleeker form factor is expected to improve both comfort and fit, which has always been a hallmark of Beats products.
In terms of functionality, the new Powerbeats Pro will continue Beats’ tradition of strong Android compatibility. The earphones will also integrate seamlessly with Apple’s ecosystem, offering the convenience of Find My Device functionality. Battery life is expected to see enhancements, allowing for longer listening sessions—an essential feature for fitness-focused users.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 is positioned to be a premium offering, catering to users who value both high-performance audio and fitness-centric features. With its upcoming release, Apple seems intent on refining its Beats lineup, offering a distinct alternative to the AirPods series while maintaining strong appeal across both iOS and Android platforms.
