Apple’s 2025 iPhone SE Redesign: Face ID, AI, and Performance Upgrades

Apple is preparing for a significant redesign of its iPhone SE, set for a 2025 update known as V59, with plans to modernize its most affordable model. According to Bloomberg, the redesigned iPhone SE will introduce Face ID and remove the iconic home button, marking a notable departure from its current design. This shift is intended to make the iPhone SE more appealing in developing markets while aligning it with Apple’s flagship devices.

The new iPhone SE will adopt a more contemporary design by eliminating the home button in favor of Face ID and incorporating Apple Intelligence, Apple’s AI-powered platform. These changes will make the SE look and feel more like the flagship iPhones, offering a premium experience at a more accessible price point.

Currently priced at $429 in the U.S., the updated iPhone SE could see a price increase due to these features. However, Apple may continue offering the older model at a reduced price (potentially as low as $200) to maintain its competitive edge in price-sensitive emerging markets. In India, the iPhone SE is priced at Rs 47,600.

On the performance front, the 2025 iPhone SE will include Apple’s custom-designed Sinope modem and an entry-level A19 chip. These upgrades will improve connectivity and processing speeds while reducing Apple’s dependence on external suppliers like Qualcomm.

Additionally, the iPhone SE will integrate Apple Intelligence, Apple’s AI platform, enabling enhanced photography capabilities, personalized experiences, and on-device AI processing. This integration aligns with Apple’s broader strategy to establish itself as a leader in artificial intelligence.

Alongside the updated iPhone SE, Apple plans to refresh its product lineup in early 2025. New entry-level iPads will feature the A17 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM, while the iPad Air will receive the M4 chip, narrowing the gap with the iPad Pro. Additionally, the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models will launch with M4 chips, offering improved performance at competitive price points.

The year 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal one for Apple. With the introduction of modern features like in-house silicon and Apple Intelligence in the iPhone SE, Apple is laying the foundation for future innovations. The company is also exploring the possibility of thinner devices and foldable technology, signaling its forward-thinking approach in the tech landscape.
