AR Murugadoss’ Sikander Faces Low Buzz Ahead of Release

Director AR Murugadoss is gearing up for his much-awaited comeback with Sikander, starring Salman Khan. However, despite the star power, the film has been generating surprisingly low buzz. Scheduled for release on March 30th, a Sunday, the timing has raised concerns. With Ramzan falling on March 31st, the festival mood could impact box office collections, and the following weekdays may not provide the momentum needed for a strong opening. Typically, a Friday release offers better prospects, but that isn’t the case here.

Adding to the challenges, Sikander has faced mixed responses from audiences. The teaser and promotional songs failed to create significant hype, leading to speculation about whether the makers might reconsider their release strategy. A Friday release usually allows films to gain traction over the weekend, whereas a Sunday opening could be riskier, with limited time to capitalize on the audience’s initial interest.

For AR Murugadoss, Sikander is a crucial project. While he once delivered Bollywood blockbusters like Ghajini and Holiday, his absence from Hindi cinema has been noticeable, and even top South Indian stars have distanced themselves from his recent films. A strong comeback with Sikander could reestablish his standing, especially as he also prepares for his upcoming Tamil film with Sivakarthikeyan.
