Director Atlee and Icon Star Allu Arjun have officially announced their upcoming collaboration, currently in the pre-production phase. The announcement video alone has generated massive excitement across the country, signaling a powerful partnership. This film will mark Atlee’s debut in Telugu cinema and is being produced by Kalanithi Maran under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner. Rumors suggest the film might be titled Icon.
Allu Arjun’s team successfully popularized the nickname “Icon Star” during the promotions of Pushpa 2. Interestingly, the title Icon was previously considered for another Allu Arjun project with director Venu Sriram, produced by Dil Raju and loosely inspired by Bicycle Thieves. However, that project was shelved, and now the title has resurfaced for this new venture, referred to as AA22xA6.
Excitingly, the film is rumored to feature not just one or two, but five leading heroines. Names like Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor are already being talked about, with talks underway with Bhagyashri Borse as well. The search for the fifth heroine is still ongoing.
The shooting is expected to begin in June, though Sun Pictures has yet to officially confirm the cast or the final title.
