Sankranthi 2026 turned out to be a highly profitable season for Tollywood, despite a couple of films failing to make an impact. While Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu emerged as a massive blockbuster, movies like Anaganana Oka Raju and Nari Nari Naduma Murari performed reasonably well at the box office. On the flip side, Raja Saab ended up as a major disappointment. Nevertheless, the festive season once again proved Tollywood’s strength, with overall collections comfortably crossing the ₹700–800 crore mark during Sankranthi alone.

Buoyed by this success, Tollywood has already begun charting out plans for Sankranthi 2027, which is shaping up to be even more competitive. Reports suggest that Prabhas’ next film Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is aiming for a Pongal release. At the same time, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming project with director KS Bobby is also eyeing the same festive window. Adding to the clash, Anil Ravipudi’s next film—most likely starring Venkatesh—is also expected to target Sankranthi 2027.

With more films likely to join the race, the upcoming festive season promises to be a high-voltage box-office battle. While final release dates may depend on shooting schedules and post-production timelines, the fact that top stars are once again lining up for Sankranthi clearly shows the confidence Tollywood has gained after the success of 2026. If all these biggies stick to their plans, Sankranthi 2027 could witness one of the biggest box-office showdowns in Telugu cinema history.
