The sequel to the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD remains one of the most highly anticipated films in Tollywood. With the first installment crossing a staggering ₹1,000 crore at the global box office, expectations for Kalki 2 are sky-high. However, despite producer Ashwini Dutt earlier stating that filming would commence in summer 2025, there have been no official updates, leaving fans puzzled about its progress.

Adding to the uncertainty, Prabhas is currently occupied with multiple projects, including The Raja Saab, Fauji, and Spirit. His packed schedule has raised concerns about when he will be available for Kalki 2.

Director Nag Ashwin recently addressed the topic during the 10th anniversary press meet of Yevade Subramanyam. When asked about the sequel, he admitted that even he does not have complete clarity on the timeline but assured that preparations were underway. He hinted that shooting might begin by the end of the year and revealed that Kalki 2 would explore Bhairava and Kalki’s characters in greater depth.

Despite this, there is still no confirmation on Prabhas’s shooting schedule or the film’s release date. With Salaar 2 also in the mix, the timeline for Kalki 2 remains unpredictable. What is certain, however, is that the sequel will have a much bigger budget than the first film. Fans are also curious whether Vijay Deverakonda will have an expanded role or if Prabhas will enjoy more screen time.

For now, everything about Kalki 2 remains a mystery, keeping audiences eagerly waiting for an official announcement.
