Azoria CEO James Fishback Slams H-1B Program as “Scam”

Azoria CEO James Fishback has ignited controversy after calling the U.S. H-1B visa program a “scam” that is “robbing Americans of jobs and dignity.” In a series of posts and interviews, Fishback — who previously developed the DOGE Checks tool and publicly split with Elon Musk — accused U.S. companies of exploiting visa loopholes to avoid hiring qualified American workers.

“The H-1B scam is hurting Americans, especially in Florida,” Fishback wrote on X. “If companies in FL want to hire skilled workers, stop importing Indians and hire recent grads from FSU, UF, FAU, and UCF. They are brilliant, hungry, and love our state.”

His remarks come amid renewed scrutiny of the visa system following the Trump administration’s move to increase H-1B fees to $100,000 — a decision Fishback has praised. In a recent video, he alleged that “so-called American companies” manipulate hiring rules by posting job ads in obscure outlets before claiming a lack of local candidates. “It’s disgraceful. It’s time to finally and fully dismantle the H-1B scam,” he said.

Fishback has faced backlash for directly targeting Indian and Chinese professionals, claiming they are both victims and enablers of the system. “The Indians and Chinese think they are better off, but they too end up getting exploited. Otherwise, I have no sympathy for them, because they are treating us like slaves in our own country,” he said in one statement.

In a Fox News interview, Fishback doubled down, alleging that American tech graduates — particularly in Florida — are being sidelined in favor of cheaper foreign labor at companies such as Apple, Amazon, Google, and Meta.

Critics argue that Fishback’s comments risk inflaming anti-immigrant sentiment and reinforcing stereotypes about Asian professionals. Advocacy groups, including the Hindu American Foundation, have warned that such rhetoric could contribute to rising Hinduphobia and anti-Indian bias amid an ongoing visa crackdown.

As the U.S. heads toward a heated election season, Fishback has emerged as one of the most vocal opponents of the H-1B program, calling for its complete overhaul — or outright abolition.
