Nandamuri Balakrishna has been on an impressive run over the last four years, delivering consecutive hits with Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari, and the recently released Daaku Maharaaj. The veteran star is now gearing up for the highly anticipated Akhanda 2, slated for release on December 5, while also announcing a massive historical action drama with director Gopichand Mallineni.
Meanwhile, ace filmmaker Koratala Siva continues to consolidate his place as one of Telugu cinema’s most successful directors. Having started his career as a writer before transitioning to direction, Koratala carved a niche with socially relevant blockbusters such as Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Bharat Ane Nenu. His latest outing, Devara, turned out to be a hit, and he is currently preparing for its sequel, Devara 2.
With Jr NTR tied up in pre-scheduled projects, including Dragon with Prashanth Neel, the shoot for Devara 2 has been slightly delayed. During this period, Koratala Siva is reportedly working on fresh scripts, and strong industry buzz suggests that one of them is being designed for Balakrishna. If finalized, this will mark the first direct collaboration between Balakrishna and Koratala Siva as actor and director.
Interestingly, while Koratala had earlier contributed to the dialogues of Balakrishna’s blockbuster Simha (directed by Boyapati Sreenu), he did not receive formal credit. Fans are now thrilled at the prospect of seeing this long-awaited combination come to life in a full-fledged project.
Balakrishna’s current lineup is already packed. Following Akhanda 2, he will join hands with Gopichand Mallineni once again after the success of Veera Simha Reddy. He is also committed to the sequel of the cult classic Aditya 369, to be helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi. If schedules fall into place, Koratala Siva’s film with NBK could roll out soon after the completion of Devara 2.
With Balakrishna’s unstoppable momentum and Koratala Siva’s proven storytelling craft, the project has the potential to be one of the most exciting collaborations in Telugu cinema.
