Nandamuri Balakrishna chose the biopic of NTR to launch his home production house NBK Films.
The idea of making the biopic of NTR was not Balakrishna’s. It was Vishnu Induri who came up with the idea and Sai Korrapati joined him.
Balakrishna also decided to co-produce the film and later took over as the ‘main producer’ and included his wife Nandamuri Vasundhara’s name as one of the producers.
Balakrishna expected NTR to create history at the box office and also be remembered as a classic forever. But he got the first shock when Kathanayakudu failed to click.
With over Rs. 50 crore loss, Kathanayakudu result has demoralized Balakrishna and rest of the team of NTR. They had given up on the second part even before the movie was released.

However, no one expected Mahanayakudu to fail in such an embarrassing fashion. It is all set to become the biggest flop in Balakrishna’s career.
It is competing with the likes of Officer and Parama Veera Chakra, the all-time disasters among films featuring a big star in the lead role.
Balakrishna who is not new to failures is reportedly depressed and deeply disappointed with the result of Mahanayakudu.
Balakrishna also refused to attend the event of 118, but attended the event as Kalyan Ram insisted upon his presence.
At the event, it was pretty evident from Balakrishna’s body language and facial expressions that he is humiliated by the result of Mahanayakudu.
