Nandamuri Balakrishna — the name that spells mass appeal in Telugu cinema — was all set to light up the screen in Jailer 2. His inclusion in the Rajinikanth-starrer sequel had sparked major buzz across South India. However, things have taken an unexpected turn.

According to the latest reports, Balayya has decided to opt out of the project. Director Nelson Dilip Kumar had designed a high-voltage 20-minute cameo for him — that of a fierce police officer — and the makers were reportedly ready to offer a whopping ₹50 crore for the role. But due to reasons that remain undisclosed, Balakrishna chose to walk away from the film.

Not wasting time, the Jailer 2 team quickly began looking for a replacement who could deliver the same intensity and impact. They’ve now brought Malayalam powerhouse Fahadh Faasil on board for the crucial role. Fahadh, known for his effortless performances and commanding presence, is expected to bring a fresh edge to the story.

Backed by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is shaping up to be a massive pan-India spectacle. With Rajinikanth leading the cast, alongside Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and now Fahadh Faasil, the sequel promises to push the limits of scale and style. Fans are now waiting eagerly for the official announcement and shoot schedule — because when names like these come together, fireworks are guaranteed.
