Balakrishna Upset Over Ninth Spot in APFTDC Invite

A minor issue turned into a major controversy recently when Nandamuri Balakrishna raised a concern in the Assembly regarding the APFTDC (Andhra Pradesh Film, Theatre and Development Corporation) invitation list. The actor-turned-MLA pointed out that his name was placed ninth among the film celebrities on the invite — something he reportedly took as an insult.

Balakrishna is said to have questioned the officials about who decided the order of names and why his was written so far down the list. His remarks quickly went viral, sparking social media discussions and trolls, turning what seemed like a small clerical issue into a public talking point.

Upon inquiry, it was discovered that the list was prepared by a person associated with a well-known film production banner. According to sources, when the Chief Minister instructed the Cinematography Minister and his department to prepare the guest list, the task eventually landed in this individual’s hands.

The person reportedly clarified that the placement of Balakrishna’s name was not intentional — he had simply remembered Balakrishna’s name after listing eight other celebrities first.

However, once Balakrishna learned who had prepared the list, he allegedly called the person directly to express his anger and disappointment. Reports suggest that Balakrishna questioned how his name could be placed ninth, especially considering that he had attended a personal family event of that individual in the past.

While details of that heated conversation remain private, many in the industry can only imagine the tone and intensity of Balakrishna’s words.
