Even though the Mega and Nandamuri families are united politically as part of the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh, fresh tensions have begun to surface—this time because of Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Balakrishna’s recent unparliamentary remarks in the Assembly not only provoked the YCP cadre but also angered the Mega camp. Leaders close to Chiranjeevi are demanding a public apology from him.
Ravanam Swamy Naidu, a longtime ally of Chiranjeevi, posted a lengthy message on X (Twitter) insisting that Balakrishna must apologize for mocking Chiranjeevi inside the Assembly. He reminded that although Balakrishna has insulted the Mega family multiple times in the past, Chiranjeevi always showed restraint and avoided escalation.
Naidu further pointed out that during Balakrishna’s personal family struggles, it was Chiranjeevi’s fans who stood by him. Yet today, Balakrishna has “forgotten the goodwill” and gone as far as tarnishing Chiranjeevi’s image on a public platform like the Assembly.
It’s not just Swamy Naidu raising his voice. Several Kapu leaders, members of the Mega camp, and even Jana Sena youth have strongly condemned Balakrishna’s “loose tongue.” Social media is now filled with clips and posts slamming his comments.
The key question is: Will Balakrishna step back and publicly apologize to Chiranjeevi? And more importantly, will Chandrababu Naidu be able to exert enough pressure on Balakrishna to make him do it?
