The teaser of ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ was digitally released by THE Vijay Deverakonda a while ago. This dramedy directed by Clax is backed by Loukya Entertainments Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni.
Halfway into the teaser, Kartikeya Gummakonda’s character asks this question with a smile: “Están listos muchachos”. The Spanish phrase means “Are you guys ready?”. Ofcourse, we are! And so also the multi-hued residents of Yedurulanka, the Godavari village in which the film is set.
The villagers believe that the universe is done with them and that the world is going to vanish into thin air on December 21, 2012. The apocalypse fears have been accentuated by a morally corrupt cabal (played by Ajay Ghosh and Co.), who abuse religion to make merry at the expense of naive people. The villagers are shown to resort to whatever they can to cope with the ‘imminent’ end of the world.
This film seems to be a forceful story, comprising a bag full of comedy, action and drama. Kartikeya plays an intrepid character who woos a beautiful woman, ‘DJ Tillu’ fame Neha Sshetty and tries to put up a brave front against the hoax.
Nothing much has been revealed about the characters played by Satya, Vennela Kishore, Goparaju Ramana, and Raj Kumar Kasireddy. Srikanth Ayyengar and ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad surely have got consequential roles.
With music by Mani Sharma, the film will have a theatrical release in March.
