Bhagyashri Borse, who made her Telugu debut last year with Ravi Teja’s Mr Bachchan, was quite active during that film’s promotions. She attended interviews, participated in YouTube shows, and made sure to create a buzz before the release. Despite all the efforts, the movie failed to perform well at the box office.
After almost a year, Bhagyashri is back with her second Telugu outing, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role and slated for a grand release on July 31. Surprisingly, with just three days left for release, she has hardly been a part of the promotional campaign. Apart from attending the big trailer launch event in Tirupati, she has maintained a low profile.
Given that Mr Bachchan turned out to be a flop, this film is a crucial opportunity for Bhagyashri to make a mark in Tollywood. Many feel that actively promoting the movie during these final days would have helped her as well as Kingdom. Her absence has sparked speculation—does she have only a limited role in the film, or is the story built in such a way that her character doesn’t need much spotlight?
Compared to her previous film, Bhagyashri hasn’t managed to draw attention this time before the release. It now depends on whether her on-screen presence in Kingdom can turn the spotlight back on her once the movie hits theatres.
