On Wednesday, as TTD Chairman B R Naidu completed his first year in office, claiming to have introduced significant reforms in temple administration, his predecessor and YSR Congress leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy criticized his tenure, calling it “inefficient” and “a total failure.”
Bhumana alleged that Naidu struggled to manage temple affairs effectively, citing his limited understanding of AI-based systems, which he said worsened crowd management. He also claimed that darshan tickets were being sold on the black market and that Naidu had lost
control over temple operations, resulting in multiple irregularities at Tirumala.
“Naidu’s year as TTD chairman has been marked by mishaps, indifference, and internal settlements,” Bhumana said, noting that despite promises of completing darshan within two hours, the reality was very different. He further accused Naidu of prioritizing publicity over administrative efficiency and pointed out that claims about scrapping the Srivani Trust were misleading, as the decision was later reversed.
Bhumana also highlighted that the TTD Board has no authority to appoint Vice-Chancellors and raised concerns about irregularities in the transfers of Assistant Executive Officers.
