The fact that YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy wrote a letter to the Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, requesting for the release of Varavara Rao, didn’t go down well with the AP BJP incharge, Sunil Deodhar.
Sunil Deodhar reacted to the matter on his Twitter profile yesterday, asking CM Jagan to stop his double-standards. He said that Jagan was supporting the BJP out in the open, and was behind the letter to release Varavara Rao in secret.
Varavara Rao has been named a Naxalite after he conspired to kill the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Ever since then, he’s been in jail, and YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy’s letter to the VP has created quite the issue now.
Bhumana has now written a letter to Sunil Deodhar, stating that Jagan had nothing to do with the letter, and that Sunil should not view the letter as a political agenda. Karunakar also said that he wrote the letter to Venkaiah Naidu because the Vice President and Varavara Rao had spent time in jail together over 46 years ago. Karunakar said that he wrote the letter because the VP and Varavara Rao share very close personal ties.
Hopefully, this letter will put an end to the matter and clear things up between the YSRCP and the BJP, whose relations were on the brink after this issue came to light.
