The first two rounds of counting in Nandyal is indicating TDP’s victory in Nandyal by-poll. However, what is shocking is that the counting of first two rounds were from the rural areas in Nandyal. This is irony given belief that YSRCP has good base in the rural regions and TDP in urban areas.
Contrary to this, even the rural voters are with TDP. With this, political analysts indicate not less than 20 k – 30 k majority for TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy against YSRCP candidate Shilpa Mohan Reddy. The by-poll is facilitated after sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy (who won on YSRCP ticket and later joined TDP) died of cardiac arrest. Hence, it turned more significant for both TDP and YSRCP ahead of 2019 polls.
CM Chandrababu Naidu’s development plank, Bhuma family’s commitment and various other factors seem to have worked in favour of the ruling TDP. But as of now, only two rounds of counting is done and one needs to wait till complete counting.
