When the list of Most Desirable Women gets out every year, one of the top leading ladies generally takes the crown. This has been the case for past several years. However, breaking the norms, a budding actress whose rise to fame is the ‘Bigg Boss’ show, has trumped all the leading ladies of South to take the crown of the Chennai Times Most Desirable Woman in 2017, decided through a month-long online poll.
Oviya is the name. This budding actress shot to instant fame with Bigg Boss Tamil. Her gutsy stay in the house made her the darling of masses and fetched her an army of fans, who have now voted her as the Most Desirable Woman.
For the unknown, Oviya made her debut in Tollywood with the much delayed Tarun-starrer, ‘Idi Naa Love Story’, which released on Feb 14. The disastrous film however did not provide the welcome Oviya desired in the Telugu film industry.
Coming back to Most Desirable Women rankings, Nayanthara, who took the crown last year, settled with Second place this year. 3) Rakul, 5) Kajal Aggarwal, 6) Amy Jackson, 7) Andrea Jeremiah, 11) Aditi Rao Hydari, 14) Anushka Shetty, 15) Keerthy Suresh, 16) Samantha Akkineni, 17) Tamannaah, 21) Shruti Haasan, 23) Trisha, 26) Regina Cassandra, 28) Amala Paul, 29) Raai Laxmi and 30) Hansika – featured in the list.
Shockingly, Tamannah, Samantha and Shruti Haasan, who ranked 2nd, 3rd and 5th last year, secured 17th, 16th and 21st ranks this year.
