OG team seeks ₹1000 premiere ticket hike
The team behind “OG” has officially applied for a ticket price hike in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, along with permissions to host special paid premiere shows across the two states. For these premieres, the makers have fixed a flat ticket price of ₹1000 in all theaters, covering both single screens and multiplexes.
In Andhra Pradesh, getting approvals is expected to be smooth, as Pawan Kalyan himself oversees the movie ticket pricing policy, and producer DVV Danayya has been a longtime associate of the star.
However, the situation is slightly different in Telangana. While CM Revanth Reddy is unlikely to oppose the ticket hike, permissions for additional shows and midnight screenings may face resistance, as the state government has generally been cautious about such requests.
Despite these hurdles, distributors in the Nizam region are highly confident. They believe the film’s paid premieres could set new opening day records, potentially surpassing even the numbers of Pushpa 2.
The official clearance for the special shows and revised ticket rates will be granted once the team submits the censor certificate to the respective state authorities.
Meanwhile, the overseas response has been overwhelming. In North America, “OG” has already raked in $1.7 million from advance ticket sales for premiere shows, reflecting the massive anticipation surrounding this Pawan Kalyan starrer.
