In a recent interview, Basrur clarified the reasoning behind Salaar’s BGM. He revealed that it was director Prashanth Neel’s creative decision to have a score that acted like a “slow poison” rather than an immediate, haunting effect. The intention was to create a subtle, layered tension rather than an instantly catchy theme.

“During Salaar’s theatrical release, many compared the score to KGF and were disappointed,” Basrur admitted. “But the approach was intentional, guided by Prashanth’s vision. The BGM gained appreciation later when the film became available online, and audiences began noticing its depth and subtlety.”

Now, Ravi Basrur is gearing up for the much-anticipated NTR-Prashanth Neel project, tentatively titled Dragon. Expectations are high for the film’s score, as fans hope Basrur will deliver a powerful and memorable soundtrack befitting a commercial action drama.
