There are quite a good section of Telangana people who still feel KCR might have played an instrumental role in the formation of the separate state Telangana but he didn’t deserve all the praise for the partition of the state from Andhra Pradesh. However, KCR somehow managed to create his own image that he is the face of the state nonetheless the unshaken force in the Telugu speaking state.
Of course, TDP which could have enjoyed some credit but was successfully subsided by the TRS which is their former ally and later the Congress which gave them the status of a separate state was clinically dominated by the people in Pink. Harish Rao, KTR emerged as the brute forces to aid an aggressive leader like KCR. That has been the story for years in Telangana and now, K Chandra Sekhar Rao has the need to recollect the past.
In Dubbaka by-polls, Congress which used to be the main opposition in Telangana was replaced by Bharatiya Janata Party in an unimaginable fashion. During the pre-poll period, the TRS cadre targeted the saffron party in desperation and eventually, the BJP won. One can state that TRS has shown over-confidence and this victory of the BJP is a fluke for some major reasons. Yet, there is a threat awaiting KCR.
As we mentioned before, TRS cleverly subsided the TDP and INC who have done a lot of favour to Telanganites over the years and cleverly projected themselves as the saviours of a newly formed state. They dictated that change happen only in TRS rule and even manipulated that as long as TRS was in form, Telangana didn’t need any other party to run the government.
But, much to the embarrassment of the euphoria of the TRS party, this phenomenon was proved wrong by the BJP in the last parliamentary elections. They have shown what a politically stable national party like BJP can do in a state like Telangana and have shown that they can replicate what TRS has smartly done over the years. One big blow in the LS polls and KCR was in defence and the same is happening in GHMC elections now as the result of Dubbaka effect.
BJP just wants to make sure that the TRS feels the heat and is making them experience the pain what Congress and TDP has been feeling over the years and weeping silently behind the chants of the TRS. Still, KCR is very much in the game. But, in the game he thought could play by his own rules but BJP came into the act big time changing not only the rules but the complexion of the game to shatter KCR’s hopes of monarchy.
